Joshamee Gibbs
Biography:
If anyone is an enigma its Gibbs. No one, except maybe Jack Sparrow, knows where he comes from or what his
lot in life is. It is speculated that Gibbs is a New Englander. It is also merely speculated that he is a Welshman
or possibly an escapee form Botany Bay.
What is known of him is that he is a master seaman and once held the rank of Boatswain in the British Royal
Navy. He is readily identified by almost every pirate he meets, which is curious since Gibbs is actually quite
wary of pirates. He is also highly superstitious, spouting half tales and sea stories to help make his points made.
Captain Jack and Joshamee have been friends for years but neither will say for how long nor when or where
they met. It has been said on several occasions that Gibbs is fiercely loyal to Jack, unless the Pirate's Code
should take precedence.
Gibbs has said himself that he would "Fight to run away" but make no mistake, he can fight! He boasts of
being in 15 naval battles, countless pirate skirmishes and 5 personal duels all of which he has survived
unscathed.
When not on a pirating adventure Gibbs can almost always be found on the island of Tortuga in, or around, his
favorite pub The Faithful Bride.
