Name: R
Mr. Covington
Biography:
Whenever the talk would turn to pirates, certain elements would always come forth, tales of mystery and
superstition. So goes the story of Mr. Covington, ships carpenter aboard The Black Pearl.
Always a faithful mate regardless of which captain commanded her deck at any given time, Sparrow or
Barbossa. A Fixer of things needin' fixin', he always made things work where they wouldn't before. He enjoyed
prowling about the quarter deck with his famous French musket that never seemed to miss its mark. During a
battle he could be found high aloft, musket in hand, picking off any ship's officers that dared confront the Pearl
as she prowled about the warm waters of the Caribbean.
Mystery and superstition also surround ole Mr. Covington, now grey bearded and bent from a life at sea, not to
mention surviving certain curses. His repairs to the Pearl where much needed after her encounter with the
Kraken, let alone the trip to the far reaches of the map and the engagement with the Flying Dutchman that would
leave any son of the sea grey before his time.
Mr. Covington, still a pirate's pirate, now spends his time ashore on his sugar plantation making his rum or
spending long hours at a certain tavern telling tales of shipwrecks, curses and long journeys. One of his favorite
tales to tell is one through strange lands to the north. A tale that tells of rivers of gold and great lakes which took
one to places never seen, with even stranger tribes of fierce natives and customs unheard of afore.
Perhaps stranger still is his custom of spending time with one Calico Kate, but tis true that when their together
interesting things are bound to happen.
