From the time he was a toddler, Kyle was accustomed to roaming the streets for survival. Born
the son of a common street wench, he was unsupervised and ignored as a child and spent his
nights alone, observing the night life of the town from the shadows. He had always been
independent and street-smart. He quickly learned the ways of survival on his own, and frankly,
enjoyed quietly watching the raucousness and debauchery of his home, the streets of Tortuga.

Always a loner, he quietly watched the most ruthless thieves and fighters, and learned what it
takes to win in a confrontation. His skills at stealing and sword play excelled, as he learned how
to acquire anything he set his sights on.

When he was 10 years old, he began to notice the difference in the "classes" of people, and
decided to take more pride in his appearance.

Tired of looking like a poor bagger, he began to steal clothing and other items to improve his
self esteem through vanity. One night, he spied a pirate with a very unique and intriguing hat. He
decided that he HAD to have it. He watched the man enter a tavern, and noticed that everyone
seemed to know and fear him. Kyle thought it would be a tremendous feat and trophy to steal
from such a feared pirate.

Kyle watched, silently, as the loud and boisterous man talked to the wench behind the bar.
Slowly, Kyle crept up and as he raised his hand to swipe it the man grabbed him by the leg and
lifted him into the air.  The pirate with the hat laughed maniacally as he carried Kyle outside.
Instead of killing him right there, the fearsome pirate began to talk with Kyle, learning of his
past, learning of his skills, and discussing Kyle's future with him. Kyle soon learned that this
man was the villainous Captain Barbossa.
Ever since that night, Kyle has been Barbossa's "apprentice" and has been
learning everything that the captain knows. Over time the two of them have
formed a sort of father-and-son relationship. Kyle's greed, skills, temper,
and attitude is such a perfect match with Captain Barbossa's, he could very
well be his natural son.

Kyle has earned his nick-name of "Cut-Throat" in many ways, and someday
his skills will surpass those of his teacher and mentor.

Pirate History:
Crewman:
A ships crew numbered between 20 and 300 men, depending on the size of the vessel, and Crewman were the basic grunts of the ship. Their duties
were many and ranged from cleaning the vessel to the constant round of repairs required to keep it afloat. The crew also needed to be on constant watch for
other ships as well as studying tides and changes of wind or looking out for dreaded reefs. A daily rota of watches arose as a result of this. Gunners were
responsible for the proper cleaning and stowing of the cannons. During battle they had to be able to aim and fire their cannon with great accuracy. This expertise
took years to acquire.
