The Lake Erie Pirates:

Who we are and what we do:
    The Lake Erie Pirates Costume Organization™ is a volunteer group of pirate enthusiasts that participates
    in charity events,  conventions, living histories and various other public events. We work to bring the
    experience of the Golden Age of Piracy as well as the Pirates of the Caribbean© films, to people of all ages
    all over the Western Pennsylvania, Western New York and Eastern Ohio at no cost.
    Our crew is comprised of passionate individuals from various walks of life. These individuals portray
    either Pirates of the Caribbean© characters or characters that they themselves  created. These self created
    characters are historically accurate as possible to pirates who lived during the 1600's and 1700's.

Our Mission:
    Our mission is to serve the community by providing quality, family entertainment and education
    through a fun, yet accurate, portrayal of popular pirate characters.


Event Information:

What we can do for you and your event:
    We specialize in what we call “wandering entertainment.” This meaning that we walk around your event
    interacting with your patrons, posing for pictures, and handing out “treasure” to every child we meet.
    Another form of entertainment we offer is a weapons and combat demonstration where we perform a
    small, choreographed, sword fight and a fun, interactive, history of real piracy. We also have an expert
    magician who can perform a small, pirate themed, magic show.
    We are also prepared to help promote the event, collect donations, and help out in any other way that you
    might need.

What we need from you if we are to attend:
    As you can imagine with this type of entertainment there are certain things we require in order to
    perform at each event. Each event is different and with that in mind we might require different
    accommodations for each type.  Here is a list of what we might ask of you:
  • A private changing area:
    This is so we can get into costume beyond the view of the public. Also we ask that the area is
    secure so we may store any valuables.
  • A ready supply of water:
    These costumes can get very hot and it is important for us to stay hydrated. Bottles preferred.
  • Table space:
    If an indoor event, we might want to set up our table display to help promote our organization.
  • Tent space:
    If an outdoor event, we might want to set up our historically accurate tent, with display, to
    help promote our organization.

    Accommodations can be discussed when booking event. Donations accepted. A two month notice is
    preferred so we may schedule accordingly.

    The Lake Erie Pirates Costume Organization™  cannot at any time guarantee how many pirates nor
    which pirate characters will be in attendance at any and all events.

    The Lake Erie Pirates Costume Organization™ reserves the right to cancel attendance to any event up to
    72 hours prior to the event. Any cancellation after 72 hours would be do to uncontrollable circumstances.
    (ex. unfavorable weather, poor traveling conditions, etc.)

    Liability Clause:
    Every member of the Lake Erie Pirates Costume Organization™ is responsible for his or her own
    actions, and the consequences of those actions, prior to, during, and after any and all events the
    organization participate in or attend. The Lake Erie Pirates as a whole will not be held responsible in case
    of accident, injury, or damage to property due to any member's actions, and the Lake Erie Pirates will not
    be held responsible in any way for an individual's inappropriate, careless or dangerous behavior.
