Biography:
Little is known about Hector Barbossa before he joined the Black Pearl crew, but what is known is that he
came from a very poor family and eventually ran away. Some time after that he took to the sea. Overtime he
learned all the things a good seaman should know and, seeing how well the captains and officers lived, vowed
to someday become a captain himself. No one knows how Barbossa took to pirating. Some say that he wanted
to be an honest seaman at first, but others say that he was born so evil that not even Hell itself would ever take
him. Eventually Barbossa became First Mate of the Black Pearl under Captain Jack Sparrow. That was until one
night when he led a mutiny against Sparrow and finally became a Captain.
Captain Barbossa is ruthless, cunning and shows no remorse for those in his way. He is very skilled with a
sword, and supposedly learned to use one from a very young age, possibly at the time he ran away. He is also
very interested with his appearance, as his clothing shows. He has a vanity ring and some of the feathers on his
hat are said to be rare blue ostrich feathers. His coat buttons are rumored to be made from melted Incan silver
and his pistol was won in a duel against a Spaniard.
Captain Barbossa is a deadly adversary and a cunning and commanding pirate, although it is very rare to see
him without his favorite fruit.
